York British Academy is committed to providing high-quality training services and maintaining transparent and fair business practices.
This Refund & Cancellation Policy outlines the conditions governing cancellations, transfers, rescheduling requests, and refunds for all training programs, workshops, certification courses, online learning activities, and related services provided by York British Academy.
By registering for any course or service, participants acknowledge and agree to this policy.

General Policy
Course registrations represent a reservation of training resources, instructor time, learning materials, and administrative support.
As a result, cancellation and refund requests are subject to the conditions outlined below.

Participant Cancellation Requests

More Than 14 Days Before the Course Start Date
Participants who submit a written cancellation request more than fourteen (14) calendar days before the scheduled course start date may be eligible for:
- A full refund of fees paid, less any applicable banking, payment processing, or administrative charges; or
- A transfer of registration to another available course of equal value.

Between 7 and 14 Days Before the Course Start Date
Participants who submit a written cancellation request between seven (7) and fourteen (14) calendar days before the course start date may be eligible for:
- A refund of up to 50% of the fees paid; or
- A one-time transfer to a future course.

Less Than 7 Days Before the Course Start Date
Cancellation requests received fewer than seven (7) calendar days before the course start date are generally non-refundable.
However, York British Academy may, at its sole discretion, approve a transfer to a future course where exceptional circumstances exist.

Failure to Attend
Participants who fail to attend a scheduled course, workshop, webinar, or training session without prior written notice will be considered a “No Show.”
No refunds, credits, or transfers will be provided for non-attendance.

Online Training Programs
For online courses, virtual instructor-led training, webinars, and digital learning services:
- Refund requests submitted before access credentials are issued may be considered under the standard cancellation policy.
- Once access to learning materials, digital resources, recordings, downloads, or online platforms has been granted, refunds may not be available.
- Partial participation does not qualify for a partial refund.

Corporate and In-House Training
For customized corporate training, consulting projects, in-house programs, and group bookings:
Refund and cancellation terms may be governed by the specific agreement, proposal, quotation, or contract signed between York British Academy and the client organization.
Where a separate agreement exists, that agreement shall take precedence over this policy.

Course Transfers
Participants may request a transfer to another scheduled course, subject to:
- Available capacity.
- Administrative approval.
- Applicable transfer fees, where relevant.
Transfers are generally limited to one request per registration unless otherwise approved.

Course Postponement or Cancellation by York British Academy
York British Academy reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, change delivery methods, replace instructors, or cancel courses when necessary due to operational, safety, technical, or unforeseen circumstances.
Where a course is cancelled by York British Academy, participants will be offered one of the following options:
- Full refund of fees paid; or
- Transfer to an alternative course date; or
- Credit toward another training program.
Refunds under these circumstances will be limited to fees paid directly to York British Academy.
York British Academy shall not be responsible for travel expenses, accommodation costs, visa expenses, loss of earnings, or any indirect costs incurred by participants.

Payment Processing Fees
Bank charges, currency conversion fees, payment gateway charges, transaction fees, and similar costs imposed by financial institutions or payment providers may be deducted from approved refunds where applicable.

Refund Processing
Approved refunds will generally be processed using the original payment method.
Refund processing times may vary depending on the payment provider, banking institution, country of residence, and transaction method.

Exceptional Circumstances
York British Academy may review refund requests on a case-by-case basis where exceptional circumstances exist, including serious illness, medical emergencies, or other situations supported by appropriate documentation.
Approval of such requests remains solely at the discretion of the academy.

York British Academy reserves the right to modify this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time.
Updated versions will be published on this page and become effective upon publication.
